Severe or sudden tooth pain
Pain that interrupts your day or your sleep.
Knocked-out or loosened tooth
Time matters. Call right away.
Cracked, chipped, or broken tooth
A fracture can expose the sensitive pulp inside.
Lost filling or crown
The remaining tooth is exposed to bacteria and temperature.
Swelling or signs of infection
Swelling in the gums or face, or a constant throbbing ache.
Bleeding that will not stop
Especially after an injury or a recent procedure.
Pain around an implant or recent work
Problems with fillings, crowns, or implants.
Broken dentures or mouth injuries
Damaged dentures, or cuts to the lips, cheeks, or gums.
What to do until you reach us
These steps can protect a tooth while you are on your way.
Knocked-out tooth
Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently and try to place it back in the socket. If you cannot, keep it in a cup of milk and call us. Acting within the first hour gives the best chance of saving it.
Broken or chipped tooth
Save any pieces, rinse with warm water, and hold a cold compress on the outside of your cheek.
Toothache
Rinse with warm salt water and gently floss to clear trapped food. Do not put aspirin directly on the gum.
Lost filling or crown
Keep the crown if you can and avoid chewing on that side until we see you.
